Periodically, I like to check in with past clients and often times touch base with prospects that for one reason or another we never started their project. Today was one of those follow up days and what I learned to today was something that I definitely thought was worth sharing. Bottom line, I don’t want this to happen to you!
Today I followed up with prospects, that I got to know a bit, but for one reason or another I never did work for them. In most cases, these were new businesses with new websites and start up overhead who just didn’t feel they could spend any money on seo or marketing. I mean after all, they had just spent so much money to launch their dream. And marketing was an afterthought, kicked down the road until they were more profitable.
Oh I wish I had known then, what I know today, and had warned them this was a really disastrous strategy. Unfortunately today, I learned that three of these prospects, new start-ups I talked to just last year, are all now out of business. They’ve had to shut their doors.
So you find yourself in a similar situation, struggling and unwilling to spend money to market your business, please understand MARKETING IS THE LIFEBLOOD OF YOUR BUSINESS. It’s vitally important and your success depends on it! Spending just $500-1,000 to have their website search optimized, with better page content, would have resulted in more online visibility and leads. And for all we know that could have made all the difference with these businesses.
Now before I finish let me say…. Yes, I provide services that can help you grow your business. However, I’m not trying to “pitch” you or scare you into hiring me.
